Past Research
While care for children and teens in Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) across the US is high quality and safe, there are many things we still need to learn about how the PICU experience affects patients and families. We believe that children and families deserve the best care and support during this difficult time. The more we learn about how the PICU experience affects patients and families, the better care we can provide for very ill children.
RESTORE
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of medications to keep your child comfortable during mechanical ventilation and to follow-up with you and your child after hospital discharge. This trial is now complete and we hope to share the study results soon.

RESTORE-Cognition
This study will interview PICU patients up to five years after they were on a mechanical ventilator (breathing machine) in the hospital. The goal is to see how being in the ICU affects the way children think, feel, and learn a few years after being in the hospital. We are working hard on this study, and will share our results when we finish.
